Christmas Quiz

On Wednesday the 11th of December, we hosted a Christmas quiz in which we provided and made free refreshments and snacks for each table. Our quiz took place at the St Luke’s school, from 6pm-9pm. Each table consisted of 8-10 people and was mainly made up of our friends and family. We did 8 rounds of ten questions, including sports rounds, a music round and general knowledge, and for the final round, we did a round based on our charity, the Blue Tangerine Federation.

In order to incorporate and spread awareness about our charity whilst raising money, the tables were decorated with Blue Tangerine merchandise and notes written by the Students of St Luke’s school.

Quiz Tables

Tickets cost £10 each and there were 8 full tables, each with a different sponsor on, where we advertised their services, our tables were sponsored from £20-150. In order to be sustainable, we used decorations, and table covers provided by the school and from our homes, rather than buying new ones in order to reduce waste. All our family members and friends said that it was a success, and they all had a lot of fun. The quiz was hosted by one of our family members, so we were able to reduce costs rather than hiring a quizmaster. We also had a whiteboard, with which we counted scores after each round so each team could see what place they were in and how many points they had. The PowerPoint and quiz questions were made by us and the answers read out tables would swap with each other to ensure that no one was cheating.

Raffle Table

As a part of the quiz night at St Luke’s school, we offered a raffle for quiz participants which was a huge success. Some of the prizes included; a family trip to Warner Bros studio, rounds of golf, afternoon tea, candles, perfumes, a beauty voucher, bowling rounds, Wagamama’s vouchers and more. We charged $1 per ticket and sold 358 tickets throughout the night, using the breaks between rounds to allow guests to take part. At the end of the quiz, we took it in turns for each member of our dragon's apprentice team to announce the winner of a prize, drawn from a bucket of all the numbers.
